Update on Annierae

We received an update last week on Annierae she now weighs 16.5 Lbs and is 26 1/2" tall. This will probably be the only update we get before we travel. Still waiting to hear when we will be heading to China were hoping to go in October but due to a tradeshow and a Chinese holiday we may not leave until November.

In the meantime we are plugging away at the mound of paper work that has to be done before we go and we have started our packing. Greg and I also registered at Babies R Us for a baby shower Judy and Raquel are having for us. Greg had way too much fun...........if something beeped, played music, required batteries and had some type of gadget involved he put it on the list. I think Greg will have more fun playing with Annierae's toys then she will.

I hope to have more pictures to post next week of the nursery. I'm still waiting for the rocking chair to ship and we have a shelf to put up. Now we just need Annierae to complete the room.

Qian Mei Yuan (Annierae) Details

We have some more details to share! Below are the pictures and the information we received in our referral package. Praise God!!!!

It has been a long day starting with "the call" at 10:00 am from Kim our social worker. The only information she had was Annierae's Chinese name - Qian Mei Yuan - and her birth date 12/16/2004. We then waited until 5:30 for Kim to deliver the rest of the information....thank you so much Kim for working late!!!

So here is the information:

Qian Mei Yuan currently resides in China at the Qianjiang District Social Welfare Institution, Chongqing City (detailed map). She weighs 14.3 Lbs and is 25.59" long and in very good health. She smiles a lot, loves her baths and her favorite toy is a doll.

They say that the staff in the "matching room" try to match the facial expressions to their parents....funny because she looks like Greg, what a cutie!!!! We are so in love with this little one and we are so blessed and cannot wait to have her in our arms. We will be traveling in 6-8 weeks -- more info on that to follow.

Needless to say I have been a basket case all day and will have the worse cry hang over tomorrow, so I am heading off to bed. Greg and I would like to thank all of you for your love and support through this long process, and we're eager to share our experiences in China.

God Bless!!!

Our Prayers Have Been Answered!!!

What a glorious morning - our prayers for a child have been answered today!!!

Our social worker just called Kristine and told us the joyous news - we have a new little girl waiting for us in China!!!

Her name is Qian Mei Yuan (pronounced Chin May Yawn) and she was born on December 16th, 2004!!!

We don't have any other information yet - we are meeting our social worker late this afternoon to get the picture and complete packet of information. We will post all of the details tonight.

We just had to share the initial news with everyone.

We will always remember September 6th, 2005 as the day we witnessed one of God's miracles!!!!

OK, this last one isn't the nursery, but it is the bathroom off of the nursery with the safari in the corner.
