CHINA: DAY 5

04:00pm China
Hello All. We’ll it’s the eve of “gotcha day”!! This will be our last post from Beijing. We had an interesting and fun day today. We began at 8:00am this morning by exploring Tiananmen Square. It’s hard to describe how large the square is in comparison to the pictures taken. It is an interesting and historically significant part of China and we enjoyed our time there.

After touring the square, we went to the Forbidden City and walked around the many rooms and walkways on the grounds. Talk about big – this was one cool place, lots of nooks and crannies to explore.

We ended the morning with a rickshaw ride through the Hutong area of Beijing. This is one of the few remaining older residential areas within the city. It was an interesting ride to say the least – we shot some cool video of the ride.

Frankly, it’s pretty hard to concentrate right now as we’re less than 24 hours from Annierae! We have to pack and leave our luggage outside our room by 9:00pm tonight because we leave at 6:30am for the airport. A relatively short flight (2.5 hours) to Chongqing, check in the hotel – then, finally later in the afternoon, the moment we have been waiting for – Annierae! I doubt Kristine & I will get much sleep tonight. Well, it’s a short update today, but time to get packing. Lots of pictures tomorrow!!!
